As of today I have exactly 18 months until I turn 30. I wanted to create a “Bucket List” of sorts of 30 things to do/master/accomplish/see before I turn 30. I’ve been thinking long (since March!) and hard about the list as I wanted them to be attainable goals, but not too easy either. I’m also excited that I’ll be blogging about all of them as I go along and I’ll check them off my list (which will also show up on the side) as I complete them.
So without further ado, the list:
1. Master the art of French macaroons. (Because unfortunately I can’t go to Paris every time I get a craving for the deliciousness that is a macaroon.)
2. Sew a dress.
3. Get my scuba diving license.
4. Go somewhere warm to use my scuba diving license. (I’m thinking the Caribbean would be a good choice and would be a great way to spend our 10 year anniversary coming up next spring, hint, hint Christian.)
5. Find a perfect Go-To recipe for Pizza Dough.
6. Sew a quilt.
7. Make a piece of furniture.
8. Learn Adobe InDesign.
9. Master the recipe for Creme Brulee.
10. Have a sewing project published in a sewing magazine.
11. Scrapbook/Blurb all our photos from Europe.
12. Make some jelly using a pressure cooker. (I make freezer jam and jelly all the time but have never actually used my pressure cooker and it would sure be nice to save some freezer space.)
13. Get a fabric printed (of my own designs) from Spoonflower and make something with it.
14. Refashion a cardigan.
15. Make salt water taffy.
16. Find a Go-To recipe for delicious homemade bread.
17. Turn 5 projects in my sketchbook from sketches, to the real thing. (I would estimate that only about 1% of ideas from my sketchbooks every get turned into projects.)
18. Embroider something with my sewing machine.
19. Self-Publish 10 new sewing patterns.
20. Visit the Grand Canyon.
21. Expand my french vocabulary. (I want to really READ each copy of Marie Claire Idees that I get so this goal is complete when I can understand everything that’s printed in the magazine. Which means there will be lots of crafty terms added to my vocabulary.)
22. Pull out my dusty stained glass supplies and make a piece for our house. (Or someone else’s…anyone want to commission a piece?)
23. Swim with dolphins. (Maybe this can be done in conjunction with #4 above.)
24. Find the perfect gelato recipe. (Since I can’t visit Italy every time I want gelato.)
25. Write a Thank You note to someone deserving on a weekly basis. (I’m the worst at sending Thank You notes…practice makes perfect, right?)
26. Learn How to Properly Handle a gun (I don’t want to carry one around, or use it for hunting, but I’ve always had such a fear of guns that I think it would help me get over it if I knew how to properly use one.)
27. Experience one new type of cheese every week. (So many cheeses, so little time…)
28. Finish checking off my list of states I’ve visited. (At least the 48 contiguous states…Alaska and Hawaii would be a nice bonus!)
29. Organize a service project
30. Go whitewater rafting
So that’s it, the list! I’m super excited about these things and hope that I check them all off by the time I’m 30! Is there anything you’d add to the list?

This is really a great idea. I did a 21 things to do before 21 and it was an awesome experience. I missed a couple but I did get in a

I’m inspired! It’s to late for my #30, but maybe I can hit 40 before #40. I’ve got just under 4 years. I’ll have to work on my list.
I would say that you’ve got to try the PW’s pizza dough. I have a 6 qt kitchenaid so I can double her recipe. That’s enough for 2 pizzas right now, and 2 balls of dough for the freezer.

This is an excellent list. I love the cheese idea! When I lived in France, the grocery stores had a whole center aisle filled with cheese (both sides). There was an amazing grocery store that I shoped at in Switzerland (I miss it so much that I dream about it every couple of months!) and it had wonderful, giant wheels of cheese. They would cut your cheese right off the big wheels for you.
I’ve got a fantastic pizza dough recipe for you. I’ve also got some marvelous French bread and rosemary olive oil bread. Come visit my site!
I highly recommend Tartlette’s blog for macaroons of all flavors.
There are a ton of gun videos on You Tube. You can get instructions for the gun of your choice, even.
I make jelly ALL the time. I use a water bath canner for it. Jelly isn’t pressure canned. A pressure canner is for meats and vegetables (including beans). Fruits, jellies, and pickles go in a water bath canner. You can substitute a large pot, with a rack in the bottom. If you have a pressure CANNER (not cooker) you can use that in place of the water bath canner, and just use the rack on the bottom of that as your water bath canner. Water should cover the tops of your jars by at least an inch, and you’re fine!

Sounds like a great list!
On my own list for this year: make a vintage style purse!
