Hello All! I'm in the midst of CHA and packing but I'd thought I'd let you know about a little contest I was asked to participate in for DinoTalk. They have the coolest recordable items that you can make into fantastic projects. With some of their items from the Naked line I was asked to make some pieces for their Scrapbook Invitational. There's two ways to vote: Visit Dinotalk at booth 1216 at CHA Or You can send your vote in a quick email to contest@dinotalk.com They are still working on getting the pictures up on the site so let me show you what I did. I wanted to not just embellish their products, but make the recording … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Baby Onesies
I went to a baby shower for a friend last week, and of course, wanted to give her something with more of a handmade feel. I got a package of baby onesies and used a piece of this fabric from Michael Miller that I'd been saving for just such an occasion. To keep things quick and simple I used the pattern on the fabric instead of creating my own applique patterns. All you need is some fabric, iron-on interfacing, (I used Heat and Bond.) fabric scissors, and some coordinating thread. Iron on the Heat and Bond to the back of the material following the instructions on the package. Cut out around the shapes you'd like to use leaving about … [Read more...]
It’s hot, let’s do a giveaway!
Hello Hello! I hope everyone is staying cool! It's been super hot here in the Midwest, and it seems most everywhere else too! Perfect time for a frozen treat, or a whole bowl full! I'm staying cool by thinking about all the gelato I had in Italy: I have a confession: I always say I'm not a scrapbooker, but I made a layout yesterday. I remembered why I don't scrapbook as much. Because this one layout took me about 4 hours. I loved detailed layouts with hidden journaling, lots of teeny tiny embellishments, and just the right papers! I think I might actually frame it in a shadow box because I LOVE how it turned out! (The little … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Custom Stylish Luggage
By now you can probably tell that I love to add my own style to things (like the custom passport cover) so I decided that my plain black luggage was also fair game! Well, the almost plain luggage. I got it free, but wanted something a little more "me" for the trip. For this project I used some scrap fabric I had, ironed some heat and bond to the back of it, cut it out, and ironed it onto my luggage! Now I'll know which one is mine! Best part? It's easy! Hand draw your image onto the paper side of the heat and bond, iron it to your fabric, cut it out, and iron away! Really it was that easy! And with that I'll be taking a … [Read more...]
