Tutorial Tuesday: Ruffled Knit Scarf
How has everyone been? I've been busy with my sewing classes! I love teaching people how to make things and the sewing projects we've been working on are super fun! I've made a lot of projects recently! This might be my new favorite simple sewing pattern. I can't stop making these, they're super easy to do and make great gifts! The best part about this project is that it's an easy project to start out with knits on. I don't have a serger either, but in the pattern I'll show you a few different stitches on your regular sewing machine that will work on knits! Have fun with it! You can download the full pattern and illustrated … [Read more...]
Tutorial Tuesday: Easy Hostess Gift
Today I made about 4 hostess gifts to get ready for the holiday season in a little less than an hour! I'll show you how! We'll be stamping on fabric today! You'll need some fabric paints, dish towels (I like the flour sack ones...they seem to be the easiest to stamp on.) a foam brush, and stamps. For this project I used the Joyeux Noel set. You'll want to put some paint on your foam brush, but not too much! It should look something like this: Then use the brush as an ink pad for your stamps. Instead of rubbing your stamp on the brush, dab it, exactly like you do to get ink onto your stamp from an ink pad. The stamp … [Read more...]
Tutorial Tuesday: Thanksgiving Name Cards
I've been having fun with the new limited edition set Autumn Blessings! Consequently I've got a few little projects with this versatile set! First up are these great and easy to make name cards for your Thanksgiving table. If you don't need name cards, try using them to label the dishes on the table instead! For the stand, cut a strip of paper 10" x 1 1/2". Score at 1/2", 4", and 7 1/2". Fold into a triangle shape and adhere the bottom flaps together to complete the stand. Stamp the stitched, shaped border and add to it any of the fun autumn icons in the set. I added the oak leaf, pumpkin, and acorn. (The little leaves make great … [Read more...]

Tutorial Tuesday: Congrats Gift Card Holder
Here's a cute little project that you can complete for someone buying a new home: It's fairly easy to do. I'll show you how! Just cut an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of patterned paper in half so you've got an 4 1/4" x 11" piece. Fold in both edges towards the center making a gate folded card. Add your roof onto the card. Here's the template for you! Just print and trace to make your roof. (I also included with the template the bushes and the inside sentiment if you don't want to print your own!) Fold the roof flap and attach the roof to the back of the card: Finish up the front by adding a door and bushes and a scalloped edge to … [Read more...]
Tutorial Tuesday: Spider Favor Boxes and Spooky Votives
So this weekend I made a little spider box! What? You don't see it on my table? This is what my table looked like while trying to figure out the pattern for that little box! (I'm not a clean crafter, that's for sure!) Then I took a nap-and my brain kept working on it. I love how your brain is always working on solutions to problems, even if you're not consciously working on it! I woke up with the perfect solution and sketched it out right away: Want to make one? I've got the template for you! Just download the pdf, cut, and trace onto your best black spider paper, attach ribbon legs underneath and you're done! To … [Read more...]
