I wanted to share a project I’ve had hanging on my front door since last week. I was inspired by my friend Sara to make a cute Christmas version after seeing her scrappy one!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
(1) 12″ wire wreath frame (Usually less than $3!)
2 yards of fabric total, cut into 1″ x 6″ strips (I used a pinking rotary blade and it made things go much faster!) I used about 1/3 yard of 6 different fabrics to make mine.
Once you’ve cut your fabric, have a seat, pop in a movie or favorite TV show, and start tying!
Here’s a few tips to help:
-Don’t worry about tying them super tight
-Don’t worry about squishing them really close together
-Start tying on the inside and work your way towards the outside
-No need to fret over your fabric, it’s scrappy so just grab a piece and tie (I did try to alternate red, green, red, green, with an occasional white, but found it wasn’t really necessary in the end to be so precise.)
*Next time I’d like to try adding in a battery operated light strand to the wire frame before I start tying, then it’d have a little additional sparkle to it!
